Uploading Documents on the Sources Tab

The easiest way to add documents to your case is to visit the Sources tab and drag your documents onto the page as shown below. You can select multiple individual files to upload at one time or drag an entire directory (folder) of documents to be added to your case (only available in a Google Chrome browser).

When setting up a new case, we recommend uploading source files after you've added key contacts and issues. (Check out our best practices for new cases.)

NOTE: You do not need to use optical character recognition (OCR) to convert scanned images into text before uploading your documents into CaseFleet. Additionally, duplicate documents are flagged during upload. For more details on CaseFleet's document processing, duplicate detection, and text recognition, click here.

Remember, document upload speed depends on your internet connection. Once the document is uploaded, CaseFleet's system will process the document for review in our Document Reviewer.

You can also load documents and other sources from the Cases Home page or by clicking the chevron next to the "Create Fact" button when you are working in the Facts tab.

If you are uploading a transcript, spreadsheets, or audio/video files, check out our support articles for these specific types of documents:

Supported File Types

CaseFleet currently supports the following file types in our document reviewer: .avi, .bmp, .cdr, .cgm, .csv, .doc, .docx, .dxf, .emf, .eml, .flac, .flv, .gif, .heic, .htm, .html, .jpeg, .jpg, .key, .mkv, .mov, .mp3, .mp4, .mpg, .msg, .odp, .ods, .odt, .pdb, .pdf, .png, .ppm, .pps, .ppt, .pptx, .psd, .rtf, .sda, .sdc, .sdw, .svg, .tif, .tiff, .txt, .vsd, .wav, .wmf, .wpd, .wps, .xls, and .xlsx.

NOTE: The following are the maximum file sizes for an individual file upload -

If the file you want to upload is in a different format, you may need to convert it to PDF yourself before uploading. Large collections of zipped documents (.zip) or email archives (.pst or .mbox) can be added to CaseFleet via the bulk upload add-on.

NOTE: Be sure to split document bundles so that each separate file you upload will be a unique document. You don't want to have one PDF that consists of 20 documents all in the same file. Bundling documents makes it very difficult to see which facts are proven by each piece of evidence.

Uploading Files From Cloud Storage Applications

CaseFleet users can drag and drop files from cloud file-sharing applications when the files are saved locally to their hard drives.

Most document storage applications (Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, iCloud, etc.) indicate if the file is saved locally or on the cloud with an icon. When you typically open a document locally, the cloud service will download an offline copy to your local hard drive. Alternatively, you can also designate which files are available offline.

In the image below, you will see the green checkmark icon indicating that the file is available offline and can be dragged and dropped into CaseFleet for a seamless upload. On the other hand, a cloud icon indicates that the file is only stored on the cloud and therefore you will need first to download a copy to your hard drive before attempting to upload it into CaseFleet.
