Casefleet’s Document Intelligence feature leverages powerful neural networks (AI) to identify the key entities and generate a summary of the document's contents.

Running Document Intelligence in Casefleet provides you with additional information about a particular Source (document):
A list of entities (persons, organizations, products, events, etc.) mentioned within the document.
A one-paragraph summary of the document as a whole.
Smaller summarization cards with information regarding specific groups of pages within a document.
NOTE: Document Intelligence AI features in Casefleet are currently based solely on the OCR and text transcription data. Document Intelligence does not provide information regarding the visual content of images and video files at this time.
Running document intelligence
In Casefleet, there are a few different places where you can initiate running document intelligence:
Directly on the Sources list using the Run Document Intelligence button on a single source,
By selecting multiple sources and running Document Intelligence in bulk, or
Within the document reviewer from the Entities or Summary side panels.
When viewing your documents list on the Sources tab, you'll see an icon next to the “Launch Reviewer” button indicating: (a) if a source is eligible for running document intelligence (purple icon), (b) if document intelligence analysis has already been completed on the file (white icon), or (c) if document intelligence is currently in progress (hourglass) on a source.
To run Document Intelligence for a specific document, simply click on the purple icon on the desired row in your Sources list. You can also use the checkboxes to select multiple files to perform Document Intelligence on in bulk.
Once Document Intelligence has been performed on a document, click the "Launch Reviewer" button. In the viewer toolbar, click on the appropriate icon to display either the Entities side panel (left) or the Summary side panel (right):
If Document Intelligence has not yet run on the selected document, you'll see an option on the Entities and Summary side panels to "Run Document Intelligence". Click this button to begin Document Intelligence processing for the selected document.
Free-tier usage and overage opt-in
Accounts on usage-based billing are granted a free tier of 500 pages of Document Intelligence processing per billed user on the account each calendar month. Once this limit is reached, document intelligence cannot be performed for the remainder of the calendar month unless the account has opted-in to overage charges.
Document Summaries
Once Document Intelligence runs on a document, Casefleet will provide you with a one-paragraph, AI-generated summary based on the document's textual data. Beneath the document summary, you will see cards displayed with more detailed information related to content found on specific pages in the document. Click on the page numbers in the Summary sidebar to quickly jump to the pages referenced on the card.
If there is no pre-existing content in the “memo” section of the related source, this short summary will be automatically copied to that field.
Entities Extraction
In the document reviewer, click the Entities icon in the toolbar to display the Doc Intelligence “Entities” side panel. You will see an AI-generated list of recognized contacts, organizations, etc., detected in the document, organized alphabetically.
When the Entities side panel is open, found entities are highlighted within the document text, along with an indication of the entity’s type (Person, Organization, Event, Location, Product, etc.).
Reviewing Entity Matches
Each entity card displays a name, description, entity type, identified aliases, and the number of matches in the document.
On the entity card, click the “# matches” button to navigate through all matches of the relevant entity in the document. When matches are displayed, the highlights on the document page are limited to the selected entity. Use the arrows on the card to move to the next/previous instance of the entity matched in the document.
Accepting Entities
Found entities can be easily added to the Entities tab of your case by clicking the “Accept” button. This will launch the "Create Entity" sidebar, prefilled with the extracted information. Once a found entity is added to the case, you’ll see a completed check icon in place of the “Accept” button:
Filtering in the Entities Sidebar
You can quickly narrow down the results listed in the Entities side panel using filters provided at the top of the panel. Entities can be filtered by entity name or type. When entity filtering is selected, the list in the side panel and the highlighted results on the page are updated to reflect the set filters.
